Marketing / Communications Specialist

Edifice, Inc. a 30-year old general contracting firm located in Charlotte, North Carolina is looking to hire a communication specialist to support the marketing functions of the company. This individual will primarily be responsible for the communication function of the company including the following:
- Assist in developing, coordinating, writing, editing, proofreading, and press releases, and industry articles
- Develop, coordinate, write, edit, and proofread company magazine
- Managing the content of the website (both internet and intranet)
- Develop and support communications with the field staff
- Assist in maintaining data for proposal preparation including project data and employee resumes
- Assist with other collateral materials as needed
- Contribute to marketing and communications projects as needed
Skills/Competencies:
The successful candidate must possess excellent written communications, organizational, and time management skills, attention to detail, and relevant computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required; Adobe InDesign, Photoshop). S/he must be self-motivated, collaborative, and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Candidate should have a relevant Bachelors degree and 3 to 5 years experience in a similar position. Experience in the AEC industry is a plus.

Technical Writer/Editor, Lead

PTG has a lead technical writer/editor position open in their Chicago, Illinois office. PTG’s Core Service Business Development Group is a forward thinking creative team committed to world-class customer service and excellence in their work.
The technical writer/editor will work closely with all business development coordinators, with the Deltek Manager, and the communications staff. Writing assignments will include detailed and effective project descriptions which represent our qualifications and past work history. These shall be written in such a way that they are compelling; balance the technical and creative aspects of the projects; and allow the reader to get a clear understanding of Parsons’ work. To effectively complete these descriptions, the technical writer/editor in a journalistic fashion, create a unique story of the project, the staff, innovations developed and used to differentiate Parsons.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Writes, proofreads, and performs complex editorial functions such as copy editing, rewriting, and revising.
- Ensures all assigned documents comply with their required presentation; correct use of paragraph headings and numbering; and referencing of illustrations or photos.
- Ensures consistency in the application of technical abbreviations and acronyms, figure and table callouts and captions, and handling of boilerplate materials.
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates the editing, proofreading, and production workflow of assignments.
- Provides both quick-fix and long-term solutions for work flow problems.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
4-year degree in Business Administration, English/Journalism, or related field (or equivalent) and 5-8 years of related work experience, including at least 3-5 years of experience of proofreading and editing all facets of technical engineering publications, specifications, and proposals.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required. Microsoft Office, Deltek (training available)

Proposal Writer/Coordinator

This individual will primarily assist with writing and producing winning technical proposals and other technical and collateral materials, as well as compiling and maintaining technical information. Typical duties include:
- Assist in developing, coordinating, writing, editing, proofreading, and producing proposals
- Coordinate with Marketing to assist in collecting data and maintaining database of statistics required for proposals and qualification statements
- Assist in revising and maintaining standard documents used in proposals and qualification statements
- Support interview presentations and materials
- Assist with collateral materials, newsletters, and journal articles
- Contribute to marketing and corporate communications projects as needed

Marketing Representative

Strong writing, graphic design, communications, and organizational skills along with technical proficiency are key requirements of this position.
