Technical Writer

An association management firm in Washington, D.C., is seeking a qualified, experienced and highly organized individual for technical writing projects. The immediate project need is a handbook dealing with energy efficiency, commercial buildings and HVAC systems. Familiarity and experience with the building industry, HVAC systems and components and energy concepts are all major pluses. The technical writer will be expected to work closely with a committee and with association staff.

Successful individuals will be afforded opportunities to work on other upcoming projects including an HVAC training manual and a guideline for the commissioning of commercial buildings.

The office is conveniently located within two blocks of McPherson Square metro. Work is on a contract/hourly basis, compensation commensurate with experience, but negotiable.

Proposal Writer

The Matthews Group, Inc. t/a TMG Construction Corporation (TMG) is seeking an experienced proposal writer with 2 or more years of experience responding to federal requests for proposals from government and commercial customers. This team member will participate in developing, writing, editing, and producing proposal responses in an accurate, clear, concise, and timely manner.

We are an IDIQ and design/build commercial general contractor in the greater Washington, DC, metropolitan region. We successfully complete hundreds of call orders, task orders, job orders and design/build projects annually.

Responsibilities include:

·      Translate technical information into documents for technical and
        non-technical personnel.
·      Responsible for responding to government requests for proposal
        and other opportunities, and developing compliant, responsive,
        researched, and competitive technical responses.
·      Review all existing corporate media to determine usability for
        future marketing, including web contact, project content and written
        media.
·      Experience should be related to writing and developing technical
        information for responsive bids.

A successful candidate will have a passion for the construction industry. Two-three years experience in writing, editing, design, layout, and proposal production is required. BA preferred. Ability to produce product with limited supervision and in a deadline driven environment.

Writer/Marketing Manager

Hogan Construction Group, a commercial general contractor, is seeking a writer/marketing manager for Atlanta, GA. He/she will assist the vice president of business development and marketing in the development and implementation of the marketing strategy.

Responsibities includes:

Coordinate and manage all group RFP/RFP/Pitch –time opportunities
Write and coordinate marketing collateral materials.
Manage public relations and media outreach activities
Oversee and produce content for website updates.
Participate and manage in developing key internal and external events and seminars.
Manage trade shows and exhibitions to achieve business development, client relations, and outreach goals.
Oversee and manage a staff of one full and one-part-time employee.
Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office applications required.
