Construction Writers Association Calls for Journalism Award and Photography Award Entries

(BUFFALO GROVE, IL) The Construction Writers Association (CWA) announces that entries must be postmarked by Friday, March 16, 2007, for the annual CWA Journalism Awards and CWA Photography Awards programs. Winners will be recognized at the association's annual meeting May 2-4 in Washington, D.C.

The association annually presents five CWA Journalism Awards:

Original publication tear-sheets will be mailed to the awards committee for judging. The committee also requests that pdfs of the entry be emailed to the awards chair, Rolf Fuessler of Fuessler Group, Boston, MA.

The CWA Gordon Wright Photography Awards honor photographers who have created photos that are newsworthy, illustrative, informative and/or aesthetically pleasing. Awards are made for a single feature photograph and for a series of related photographs relevant to the construction industry. Original publication tear-sheets will be mailed to the awards committee for judging. The committee also requests that pdfs of the entry be emailed to the awards chair, Karen Courtney of BSA LifeStructures of Indianapolis, IN.

CWA's journalism and photography awards are awarded to individuals, not to the publications in which their work appears. CWA requires an entry fee of $75 for the first entry and $25 for each additional entry in each contest. Only CWA members in good standing at the time of entry are eligible; however, entrants may join the association at the time they send their entry. The individual membership fee is $100.

For details on how to enter, visit the "awards" section of the association's website or call the CWA office at 847-398-7756 for a brochure and application.
