CONSTRUCTION WRITERS ASSOCIATION PRESENTS 2005 MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS AWARDS IN CHICAGO

The Construction Writers Association recently presented its fifth annual Marketing Communications Awards at the organization's midyear meeting in Chicago. A total of 32 entries in three categories-corporate communications, public relations and advertising-were evaluated by a panel of judges on the basis of editorial content, graphic design and effectiveness in achieving the stated marketing goals. Entries were received from associations, advertising agencies, PR firms, large and small contractors, trade associations and publishers.
Award winners in the Corporate Communications category were:
- DMJM Harris for the inaugural issue of LEGACY, submitted by Corporate Communications Manager Joseph O'Neill.
- In the Direct Mail subcategory, BSA LifeStructures for the "Voices" card campaign, submitted by Director of Marketing Karen Courtney.
- In the Corporate Brochure subcategory, Two Rivers Marketing for the 2005 Vermeer Corporate Brochure, submitted by Public Relations Specialist Jeff White.
- In addition, an Honorable Mention was awarded to FMI Corporation for the publication FMI Quarterly, submitted by Project Manager Alison Weaver..
Award winners in the Public Relations category were:
- American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for the "Report Card for America's Infrastructure" campaign, submitted by Jill Dixon.
- In the Media Kit subcategory, Industrial Marketing Services for the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2005 press kit for JLG Industries, Inc., submitted by IMS Public Relations Director Jim Jobes.
- In addition, an Honorable Mention was awarded to BSA LifeStructures for its inaugural dedicated national public relations campaign, submitted by Director of Marketing Karen Courtney.
The award winner in the Advertising category was:
- Two Rivers Marketing for the "Vermeer Yellow" series of ads, submitted by Public Relations Specialist Jeff White.
The 2005 CWA Marketing Communications Awards were judged by Ronald Wyvill, Sean McKee and Joy Cooke; Mike Anderson chaired the Awards Committee.
