Call For Entries: Construction Writers Association 2008 Marketing Communications Awards

(Chicago, IL) Entries are being accepted for the Construction Writers Association’s 2008 Marketing Communications Awards. The annual awards, in their eighth year, recognize an important aspect of construction writers’ efforts—marketing communications, including advertising, corporate communications and public relations. The deadline for entries is Friday, August 15, 2008, according to this year’s chairman, Michael Anderson, of Construction Equipment magazine. CWA is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The competition is open to any industry-related individual, corporation, association, advertising agency/PR firm or publication submitting a completed entry form along with a $125 entry fee.

Entries, which must have been produced between January 1, 2007 and the submission deadline, will be divided into three classifications:

Entries will be judged on the basis of the following criteria:

Judging will be conducted by an impartial panel of people with acknowledged expertise in marketing communications. The winners will be presented awards at the CWA Awards Dinner which will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008, during CWA’s Fall Midyear Conference in Chicago, Illinois.

New this year, the Marketing Communications Awards will include the T. Randolph Russell Award for newsletters, which was previously part of CWA’s Spring journalism awards. Entries may be a single newsletter or a series of related issues covering a single topic.
