Construction Writers Association Is Green, Wired and Smart Fall Midyear Conference October 15-17, 2008

CHICAGO, IL -Tour a smart home and elevate your professional IQ by attending the Construction Writers Association (CWA) Fall Midyear Conference.

The event will be held on October 15-17, 2008 at the Hotel Allegro in Chicago, Illinois. The two-day conference includes green building issues, electronic communication, integrated project delivery, and the Smart Building tour at the Museum of Science and Industry. David Dwyer, American Renewable Energy, is leading a panel on "Green Construction Today," which will include George Tuhowksi III, Leopardo Construction, who will discuss the Greenbuild 2007 Legacy Project. On the electronic communications front, Adam Terese, web editor of Scranton Gillette Communications, is presenting on how to create effective video for the web and Shannon Darmody, Reed Building and Construction Group, will show the value of measuring click-throughs during her presentation titled "Benchmark Your Effectiveness."

The Smart Home is the "greenest home in Chicago"- both inside and out. This is a three-story modular and sustainable "green" home on the Museum's campus. Learn about the advantages of a modular home; and explore sustainable landscaping and a rooftop garden. There is no extra charge for the tour with many of the conference packages; however, there is a limited capacity.

The CWA Awards Dinner, on Thursday evening, features the CWA Marketing Communication Awards; and the Website and Electronic Communications Awards. There are seven categories offering several opportunities to be recognized by your peers. The deadline for entries is Friday, August 15, 2008. The CWA Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday afternoon at the Hotel Allegro. Members are welcome.
