Cast Your Ballot for
CWA’S TOP 5 CONSTRUCTION STORIES OF 2008!

December, 2008

It’s time for every construction writer’s favorite tradition–to vote for the top story of the year in CWA’S TOP 5 CONSTRUCTION STORIES OF 2008! Cast your ballot by December 15, 2008!

What are the most influential industry issues of the past 12 months—The economy? A new technology? A “milestone” project? The looming debate over the next federal transportation bill? An emerging trend that will have a long-term effect on the industry?

You tell us!

Once again, we’re asking CWA members to rank the biggest industry-related news stories and events of the past 12 months. Similar to the “Top 10” lists of news and sports stories compiled by the wire services, our survey is designed to spotlight the achievements and happenings that have most influenced and shaped the construction field.

And who better to tell us than you—the people who cover the industry on a daily basis!

What stories are eligible?

Stories eligible for the “2008 CWA Top 5 Construction Stories” include news events with far-reaching impact (including this November election everyone keeps talking about), regional items that have significantly affected an area’s industry/economy, new technologies making an impact on construction, and “milestone” projects in the U.S. and abroad.

Past news items topping the survey include the collapse of the I-35 Bridge in Minneapolis (2007), the Hurricane Katrina Recovery effort (2005), and rising materials costs (2004).
