Call for Entries: Construction Writers Association 2010 Journalism & Photography Awards
CHICAGO—Recognition for hard work, commitment, and dedication can prove invaluable to a journalist. Entries are being accepted for the Construction Writers Association’s (CWA) annual Journalism and Photography Awards programs. Entries must be postmarked by Thursday, April 15, 2010. Winners will be recognized at the 2010 CWA Grand Awards Dinner on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 during its annual conference, “Embracing the New Normal,” to be held in Chicago.
“The CWA Journalism and Photography awards recognize outstanding skill, value to the audience, uniqueness of approach, and impact on the industry. Each year, dozens of brilliant journalists and photographers submit their best work, and the winners of these awards are truly the ‘best of the best.’ Those within the construction industry understand the importance of a CWA award and the positive impact it can have on an industry publication,” said Marianna Boucher, corporate communications manager, McKim & Creed PA, and co-chair of the Construction Writers Association’s Journalism and Photography Awards Committees.
CWA will present six awards:
- Kneeland “Ned” Godfrey Award for body of work;
- Robert F. Boger Award in three categories: feature articles, special reports, and editorials;
- Gordon B. Wright Photography Award in two categories: single feature photograph, and for a series of related photographs.
“Receiving recognition from my peers truly validates my abilities as a business-to-business journalist. There is no better feeling of accomplishment. With every feature story or editorial I write, I aim to reach the level of Boger excellence,” said Bill Wilson, editorial director for Roads & Bridges magazine, and past winner of the Robert F. Boger Awards.
The Construction Writers Association’s journalism and photography awards recognize the individual. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance one’s credentials as well as build recognition for the publication. Special thanks to our sponsors Caterpillar, McCarthy Building Companies, Award Company of America, and Randall Reilly.
