Construction Writers Association Silver Hard Hat and Hall of Fame Awards Entries Due July 16
Chicago – The Construction Writers Association (CWA), an international organization serving the information needs of the construction industry, is seeking nominations for the organization’s 2010 Silver Hard Hat and Hall of Fame awards to recognize those individuals who are making significant contributions to the construction industry. The deadline for entries is July 16 and the awards will be presented at a ceremony at the CWA annual conference taking place October 25-26 in Chicago.
The Construction Writers Association Silver Hard Hat Award is the association's highest honor. The first award was presented in 1969 and it continues to serve to recognize those individuals who are shaping the construction industry and the Construction Writer's Association through outstanding and tireless effort, commitment and leadership.
“The Silver Hard Hat award winners include some of the most influential members of the construction community who have helped to shape our industry, our skylines and our organization. This year's winner will join an elite group of individuals who have truly gone above and beyond in their personal and professional lives to contribute to our industry,” said Judy Schreiner, Silver Hard Hat Award committee chair and president, Judywriter Ink.
The Hall of Fame awards were established in 2008 in celebration of CWA's 50th anniversary to honor journalists with a lifetime achievement award for their service and constructions to the construction industry. The CWA Founding Fathers, Robert Boger, Duane Cronk, Arthur A. Faber, James T. Jenkins, Jr., E. E. "Gene" Halmos, Henry T. Perez, William H. Quirk, John Rehfeld, Dr. George E. Symons and Edward Weilepp, along with longtime CWA members Greg Sitek and Gordon Wright, were inducted into the inaugural Hall of Fame.
“The CWA Hall of Fame award is a highly prestigious honor awarded to individuals who exemplify a lifetime of achievement as journalists in the construction industry,” said Bill Wilson, CWA Hall of Fame committee chair and editor of Roads & Bridges magazine.
